Hi Sarah, and all others at Passion Place,
The following explains my position and interest in your compnay, and through the explanation all of the answers to your questions are provided.
I am attending Bennington College, and am a first term sophomore. I took last term off to travel and take a step back from where I was to decide what direction I am most interested in pursuing. My school provides a semester during the winter of each year called Field Work Term, in which the students work as interns in their field(s) of interest. Before returing to school I worked with elementary school students on two theater productions (as mentioned in my resume). Now that I have arrived back at Bennington, I am continuing my studies of theater direction and multimedia production. I'm taking a Directing 1 course and an Advanced Projects class in which I am creating my own show incorporating movement, music, and projections...I'm learning how much patience, time, and skill is required to make a show happen!
This summer I want to continue my study of theater/multimedia produciton because this field requires a lot of experience with different kinds of theater work. I don't want to take this summer off b/c I'm excited about gaining more expereince; when i came upon Passion Place, it seemed like a good fit. I don't have anywhere to stay, I may need to work at a normal job as well, b/c I won't have any other source of income over the summer. Do you have any paid positions that I could work at in addition to interning>? If i could reciee credits, that would be nice, but it's not the reason I'm appling. The contact person would be someone in the FWT/ Career center at my school, I will ask them to contact you or give you their contact info. I'd be looking to start in June and go until August.
To be truthful, I am looking at other possibilities for the summer, but this is high up on my list, and on the much more exciting side than just getting a job! I hope that is enough info. for now, I will send references soon, and my schedule of availability for interview. Thanks,
