In reply to: Sarah 's message, "Internship Call" on 23:04:47 02/18/02 Mon

Dear Ms. Chianese,
While researching the USA art scene, I have learned of the PassionPlace and would like to be considered for the position of an intern.
I am looking for a curriculum summer internship in arts administration, and the internship in your organization would provide good hands-on experience. My resume is enclosed. I think that my background qualifies me for an internship.
At present, I am doing my Master’s in Community Arts Management at the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS). The program at UIS provides students with skills in leadership, management, and planning pertinent to public and nonprofit arts organizations, with a focus on the role of the arts in communities. My undergraduate degree provides me with necessary knowledge and experience in management. While working as a marketing manager for TOYOTA-center I developed strong analytical and communication skills. My job duties included organizing company events, working with media and foreign partners to maintain the image of the company, which often involved fulfilling complicated organizational tasks, including time management, interpersonal communications and writing reports. My Master’s degree in History from Central European University with emphasis on the cultural history and history of visual arts, gives me insight in the arts. Moreover, while attending part-time classes in photography in Moscow, I have gained knowledge of both photographic techniques and the history of photography. My current position of a Graduate Assistant in Educational Technology/Media Services provided me with a profound knowledge of the multimedia software and teaching experience. I believe my experience would enable me to be a valuable contributor to the PassionPlace team. I would welcome an opportunity to discuss my qualifications with you. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely, Yulia Kriskovets
Enc. Resume
P.S. To make my letter less official I'm sending you a little poem of mine:
Butterflies
Yesterday butterflies emigrated to my stomach, after I’ve met two walking eyes followed by a nose on the street.
Butterflies in my stomach break all the laws of gravitation, and I fly over the pavement looking for two walking eyes followed by a nose.
I can only eat honey, I can only drink dew. That’s all because of those butterflies in my stomach.
