Another great person! I would love to have her on our team! Looks like we need to secure internship housing fast! Let's talk to some realtors! - Sarah
*************
Hi Sarah,
Well, I'll try to provide you with as much information as I can. I cannot,
at the moment, provide you with references because I have not asked anyone
permission to give their name/number out as such. But that will be
forthcoming.
I have looked at your website and the range of work you produce and the
community you strive to nurture is really inspiring. I go to Williams
College which is in Berkshire County, MA and not far from the Hudson Valley
so anytime in the next few months I could come for a visit. I would be doing
this internship out of love for the arts as I'm graduating in June and could
not receive credit for it. Money is not really an issue at the moment and
hopefully housing could be arranged. The ideal time for this internship
would be this coming summer or fall. I hope that either of those times is
possible.
As far as my interest go, I have many. I am an actor, though less regularly.
I have and do direct plays/musicals/theater "pieces" and that is my most
exciting role. I also love costumes, and am taking a costume design class
and working on getting my rendering and designing skills into good shape. I
am not a light, set, sound designer but I think I could get interested in
any of those fields. I love music and am an avid singer/listener, if that
helps any. And I do have good technical basic knowledge of theater stuff - I
have built flats, hung lights, run a light board, etc.
I also am really into PR and publicity. I have worked at the public affairs
office at my school and done pr for student theater as well. I love making
things, posters, tickets, web sites, etc. I am learning Macromedia
Dreamweaver and have a great knowledge of any MS office program and the
Adobe programs. I've worked in offices and can make a mean pot of coffee,
but also possess great phone skills, excellent writing skills, and I have a
lot of initiative. I've worked at Williams in a variety of activities and
arranged several independent studies. I can work well on my own but I'm also
good in groups.
Besides that, I love knitting and ceramics. I love doing things with my
hands and have a great appreciation for hand crafts and any kind of art. At
Williams I've taken lots of Art History, English, Theater, and Religion so
my intellectual interests run the gamut. Ultimately I'd like to study
Shakespeare in the UK and maybe performance studies somewhere but that's a
ways away. In the meantime I want to work in a nurturing active theater
environment and get some experience.
Please let me know how that all sounds to you and what else you may need
from me. I am also including my resume in ms word format. If for some reason
you cannot read it let me know and I'll try an alternative method.
Elizabeth
