Hello, Mrs. Chianese!
My name is Julie Hockenberry and I am an
undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro. I am majoring in film and also pursuing a
minor in Theater. I was very excited to come across
Passion Place Productions while searching for an
internship on Idealist.org. I was wondering if your
production company is still accepting interns. Would
it be possible for me work from early May (when our
spring semester ends) until mid August? I know that
your upcoming production is a tri-city tour of '1975:
The Underground Epic' from May to June, so I am not
sure how my timing is here. I am interested in
anything from promotions/publicity to general crew
work, but I will be happy to help in whatever area you
need most. I would like to take just a minute to
explain both myself and my reasons for wanting to
intern with Passion Place Productions a little more.
Like nearly every student, I have been struggling
with the question of "what to do after college" since
my freshmen year. I chose film as my major not so much
as an answer to that question, but more because of the
need for expression. And while I still have not
decided what it is I want to be when I "grow up," one
thing I HAVE finally made clear to myself is that I
want whatever I end up doing for a career to have a
greater purpose than simply making money. This is the
reason I starting searching in the non-profit sector
and it is one reason why I find what you are doing
amazing. The fact that you combine theater with
multimedia is very exciting; I have actually been
searching for a place where film could be combined
with other art forms to create a strong and unique
impact upon the audience. I would love to be a part of
this if I can. Please let me know if your production
company still needs help. Thank you so much and take
care!

Julie
