Hi, I'm Carrie. I saw this board but came to post about quitting smoking. As for starting, I guess all quitters start first. I was a freshman who was allowed to date. The first came from a boy when I was 14. A lovely Salem. Mom smoked Virgina Slims and Dad Winston so I got a lot of theirs after that. I would smoke whatever was available on dates.
One day my parents asked me to decide between Winston or Virgina Slims or some other brand.
I elected to smoke Marlboro Light 100s "just like everybody else."
Where I went around with the cowboys in high school, I ran with a preppie crowd in college. Still the smoking carried over. It stayed around a half a pack a day all through college. I quit and got heavier on the rebound and quit again. That's another story.
