Unaware

Quietly - as the sun had begun to rise
Peaking through thin cracks of our window blinds
I traced your face with devoted eyes
I softly felt your body's heat -
As my fingertips touched your hand
And all the while -
You laid content - unaware of my desires
Lost in your morning sleep
I watched while remembering -
Our day before
With the scent of pleasure still lingering -
Tugging at my restless heart
Not wanting to disturb your slumber
I slid gently out of our bed
Turning to catch one more glimpse -
Of what pleasured my eyes
A part of me wanting to be -
Wrapped in your arms
Instead...
I disappeared - just as the night had done
Leaving you - to lay unaware
Dusted with thoughts of my love
