Wow! This made me think in a way. Generally, I just think the worms stink when they come up and die in the rain puddles. Have you ever smelled a town after the flood waters recede? Ick.

I like how you word this. Don't really know how to critique it. I'd go without the i, ii, iii and let it flow naturally. I was confused at the beginning because without the punctuation, I thought i was literally I and it didn't make sense. Perhaps there could be some moral or comparrison to us and the birds or worms.
