Only broken with the trust
Lost with realization
Burdened with the lust

Let me down softly
Let me go alone
Don't regret the moment
When you leave me on my own

I'll make it home gently
To turn off the lights
And count all the stars
Blessing the night
While seething inside me
I won't feel a thing
Breathing the silence
Lonliness brings
Finding the shadows
A good place to hide
When tired of seeing
What's missing inside

Let me down softly
Let me go alone
Don't regret the moment
When you leave me on my own

I'll make it home eventually
And box the memories away
Locking up the emotions
Strong enough to stay
And hold back when the sunlight
Begins to break the dark
And shine upon the emptiness
Deep within my heart
