days of waiting, not knowing her own destiny
thoughts not her known, merely images painted
from shattered dreams
in the distance she waits,
her mind fading off to no where
her cigarette for thought slowly burns to ashes
a remembrance of days wasted
she chokes back her crying thoughts
as the strong taste of nicotine burns her throat
so restless is her soul
how long can a heart torn into a million pieces hold on?
and again silence lingers,
her pleas to unleash her longings
had fallen upon deaf ears
she disrobes from her street clothes
the feel of cotton pj's remind her of comfort
starring at an empty bed into a sea of unfulfilled dreams
her thoughts now drowned in desperation
another damned cigarette for thought
as she is relieved of time
and now embraced by darkness
