Cool. In my view, the sagarin rating is a better indicator of relative strength than RPI because it accounts for road victories and margins. RPI is used as a result of the Golden Rule..those with the money make the rules. Large conferences want to load up with home games without being penalized for the luxury. Another indicator that Sagarin is closer to reality is the close approximation of the Sagarin "line" to the intitial betting lines typically reported.

BTW, The last time the Horizon was in the top ten which was, likewise, a down year for the Big Ten..three teams went dancing, Detroit, UIC and UMW. Butler went to the NIT and, I believe, made it to the semifinals, if not the finals.

Also dancing that year, I think, were Western and Eastern, along with Mich and Michigan State. Five Michigan Schools! Can't think of any other time that has happened. (it could have been the year after?)
