There is a core group of about 2,000 Titan fans that are willing to pay to see a game. When there a special reason to boost the attendance (e.g., ESPN televised contest) the Athletic Department gives out tons of free tickets to youth and community groups, and that can add a couple thousand to the total. When everything is in place for a good crowd (key game/opponent, winning record, homecoming, student promotions, Saturday game, favorable weather, large number of complimentary tickets, etc), you'll see the 6,000+ crowds like we had for Butler this year. Although Tuesday's game with Wright State is critical if the Titans are to move a step closer to post-season, the variables in place tell me the crowd will prove to be disappointing, likely the 2,000 faithful referenced above.
