You were way too hard on Couville. It is a big jump from Class C high school (where he played only a single year) to Division 1. Centers tend to take longer for a successful high school to college transition. He was not even eligible to play the first several games. In December, he was not able to control his body on defense, and was foul prone. He made great strides in that area and the defensive game in general. He really should have been red shirted this year, but UDM did not have that option given the Maxwell suspensions and departure. Couville will be okay next year and has the potential to be an impact player in the Horizon League by his senior year. He was already better as a freshman than Craft was in his senior year.
