I believe there will be about 13 teams with better RPI than 112 that will not go to the post season (less than .500 record or self-imposed sanction teams like U-M and Fresno). That moves UDM to around #100 in the RPI rankings for practical purposes. There will probably be around 5 or 6 teams with worse RPI than UDM that will get automatic bids to the NCAA. Assuming 105 teams go to the post season (65 to the NCAA with the one play-in game and 40 to the NIT if the size of the field is as it was last year), UDM would be perhaps the last team to get in. That would assume RPI is the only factor, but as we all know with the NIT there are many other considerations. I would but the Titans' NIT chance on life-support, but they are not dead yet. A lot will depend on how things fall out in the conference tournaments, potential NIT match-ups, etc.
