Taking advantage of the other's stumble, the pale colt shot forward, tiny hooves churning madly beneath his slight frame. The gap between them closed rapidly in those few seconds, but simply held steady as the chestnut changed gears. With a somewhat frustrated snort, the foal dug deeper, pushing himself harder and harder. Slowly, the space between the two diminished, the cremello quite determined to catch his quarry. Charging full tilt with not so certain legs is a bad thing. Galloping over a damp stretch of ground, the colt's legs suddendly shot out from under him. The foal, unable to regain his balance fast enough, crashed and burned very quickly, going down with a final squeal of protest. Arriving upon the turf in an awkward heap, the little horse gingerly raised his dial to survey the damage. Though each limb pointed in a rather unnatural direction, he had no wounds worse than a few brusies and grass stains. Dizzy but unharmed, he lurched to his feet, standing splay legged as he sought to clear the stars from his vision.
