Ive had issues like that too and it ruins the game. We changed the major ISP here, during the changeover it was every night the pings spiked, or we didn't even have a connection! One time I was playing the PFD guys, after a long bloody game, the kind that freaks you out, I was at 28 or 29, getting caught up to like second at 27ish? ALL OF A SUDDEN BOOM I lost my connection! I almost punched a hole in the monitor! This had happended several times but that was the one the broke the camels back. I called them the next day, I was ill too, they said they are working overtime on the problem. I told them they can pro-rate the bill until they offer what it is that they sell because I havent seen any of it yet! That seemed to do it, all of a sudden they seemed to care if i had good service or not. Ever since the connections been a bit slower than before but at a steady rate. Ive ran the softwares that BOSSMAN is talking about and his point is valid. If your ping looks good it doesnt mean the performance is. You can have 25 or more hops to a server and still 'look' ok but the game is still laggy or one of those hops is killing your speed.
