Tarot winced a little at the marked incredulity in her companion's voice. I get it, okay? Biiiiiig shocker that the badass fairy is scared of a horror genre that's so overdone that even your most fickle toddler can stomach it. And, yes, thanks, I'm half vampirey. Whatsittoya? Everybody has their reasons. Today, it's just because I might have pissed a few of them off last night. But, for the most part...... Lemme just say that I'm not one of the immortally dreary bloodsucking undead by choice.
Tarot clattered an ice cube against her teeth for a few moments while she struggled to find the right words for this that wouldn't make her sound Iike a pathetic, poorly conceived fan fiction character.
"Can I just say that, in general, my experiences with the vampiric set have ended badly? The last time I dated one, the relationship ended with my throat quite literally halfway down my boyfriend's stomach. It was not a vey p,peasant thing to experience, y'know."
She mulled things over a few minutes more before chomping down, hard' on the ice, savoring the sudden ice cold shock of power that it sent dowher spine. Take THAT ice. Bwahaha.

Homicidal boyfriend and it didn't earn my too many brownie points in their circles. Your boy seems pretty unaffiliated with his species' politics so no big there. Same thing with Dimitri- it's his kids' fault that I'm like this so he won't kill me. But other than that?"
She sunk low over the counter, growing. "I'm sooo dead."
