He chuckled, deep in his chest as she confessed to loving her job. But her comment about forensics had his brow arching again and his head cocking ever so slightly in surprise. "Forensics? Whats your specialty?" Well that right there might account for his comfort with her. She was in law enforcement as well. Even if she was some kind of a lab rat, being in that field tended to change how you lived, how you saw the world. Much like how anyone who's served in the military tends to view things a bit... skewed. He chuckled as she mentioned being married to her job, ya he knew how that went. "Sounds familiar." He chuckled again "Yep, I think that would be rather uncomfortable..." Heavy shoulders lifted in a slight shrug "Depending on your track record, sometimes there's not a lot to miss" He missed the connection, the bond more than anything. Sex he could get if that was all he was after, but that was only part of a relationship.
He glanced down as she drew her phone out of her purse, watching her slender fingers race across the screen as she replied to some message. He sipped from his drink as she worked, tongue darting out to clear a spot of foam from his upper lip before he spoke "Wouldn't suggest the hotel, but the apartments have furnished rooms available, just tell them I sent you and I'm sure they'll let you have one just for the night." A smirk spread slowly over her lips at her last question, and the way she said it. He shifted his hips slightly as he turned a bit more towards her, lifting his right side up a bit. Reaching down onto his right hip he slid his holster around so she could see it as well as the butt of his Glock "Already found him, I'm afraid" He gave her that cheeky grin as he settled back on his stool, taking another sip from his beer
