James leaned his muzzle into Angelina's hand, licking the inside of her wrist a few times before he sat back and scratched at his neck. This simple action drew attention to the fact that he had no collar on. He belonged to himself and no one else. But he wasn't any stray either, his coat was lush and clean, his pads callused but not torn, nails short... He was the shinning example of a well cared of canine, yet here he was seeming to have no home.

He lowered his body to the ground, flopping onto his side and looking up at Lessa. His curled tail wagged ever so slightly

i move on like a sinners prayer
i let 'em go like a levee breaks
walk away as if i don't care
learn to shoulder my mistakes
getting reckless when there's no need
break my heart but it won't bleed
i'm better as a memory than as your man
