Autumn had come early to the city and Lyla had chosen the wrong choice of clothes. She had stood in her closet for an hour picking out the fabrics and it wasn’t until now, with the chill of the air around her, that she regretted it. Her legs were clad with black leggings layerd under champagne colored shorts. Her thin waist was tied with the large belt but it was lost under the transparently thin layers of her sparkle chiffon shirt. Her arms were clutched to her body, trying to preserve warmth and she finished her cigarette. When was standing with a few other smokers, but she didn’t know them. She had moved closer to use them as shields against the slight breeze that was blowing around the corner of the club. Her metallic bracelet was chilly against her thin wrist and her heels moved in an antsy way due to the cold. As the sound of the music inside increased, she glanced up to see Mike coming their way. She offered a weak smile. “It’s fucking cold out here.” It was an offhand comment to Mike as she let the cigarette smoke escape her lungs. It left her cherry colored lips and spiraled upward past her beautiful long blonde hair.
