*Looking at all the horses out in the back paddocks with a flashlight showed that they were showing no signs of sickness. "If none of them are sick in 10 days, theres a good chance they'll all be ok" Dana says, walking up behind them. "For now all you can do is make sure that everyone that gets within 50 feet of the sick horses washes up and changes their clothes before getting near the healthy horses" Saddle nods sadly. "Half my stock is sick, and theres a good chance i'll lose most of them" Saddle says softly. She looks across the paddock at Girl and sighs, then straightens up and turns to walk back to the barn "Standing here wont help the sick horses any" Saddle tells herself, then Susan and Dana walk back to the barns and Saddle sends Travis to start a bonfire. Saddle, Susan and Dana sweep the shavings out of all the stalls and burn them, then scrub the stalls with a strong antiseptic. Then Saddle washes all the blankets and saddle pads in the antiseptic several times and takes the sick horse's tack and equipment from the tack room, away from the healthy horse's tack. "Mom, Susan, Dana! Come here!" Kelsey calls from Legacy's stall. Saddle, Susan and Dana rush to legacy's stall. The bay filly was laying stretched out in the shavings. Her breathing was very labored. "Her temperature just shot up really high!" Kelsey exclaims. Dana gets her medical bag and takes out a syringe and a bottle of a clear liquid. "This might bring her fever down a little, get some cold water and some towels and try to help her cool down" Dana instructs. Dana gives her the shot and Kelsey tries desperately to cool her down. Saddle, Susan and Dana go back to check all the other sick horses. About 10 minutes later, they come back. "How's she doing?" Dana asks. "Not improving at all and she can barely breathe" Kelsey tells them, not looking up from her filly. "Theres nothing else we can do for her" Dana tells them sadly. Kelsey desperately tries to cool the filly down, but a few minutes later she takes a last gasping breath, then stops breathing completely. Kelsey eyes fill with tears and Saddle comes in the stall and gently takes her out......
