This is a key game - both sides need to win to enhance their chances of finishing on top of the ladder and going straight into the final.

Played at Killara, Gordon won the toss and elected to bat. Unfortunately, they didn't make the best of a good batting wicket and could only manage 134 at least than 2 runs per over. Only 3 batsmen passed 20 - Jodie Davis 27, Bronwyn Calver 25 and Alex Blackwell 21 - with the rest seemingly content to hit out and get out. Gordon's efforts were also hampered by a longer than normal outfield.

Balmain used 8 bowlers without letting the batting side break the shackles. Julie Hayes was the best with 4/17 off 13.4 while Nerida Walker chimed in with 2/14. 4 other bowlers took 1 each. Kate Walsh also took 2 very good catches.

Balmain only had to face 6 overs but lost a key wicket in Lisa Keightley who was bowled by Calver for a second ball duck - Balmain survived with no further loss to be 1/3 at stumps.

In the other first grade game, Mosman forfeited to Berala.
