Michelle Goszko and Amanda Owens led the charge for Bankstown in their huge 170 run win over a very disappointing Gordon at Chatswood Oval on Sunday.
Goszko (154) and Owens (75) combined to put on 207 runs for the second wicket to put the game out of Gordon's reach as Bankstown amassed 4/305. To "top" off Gordon's efforts, they were penalised 4 overs for their slow bowling. Bankstown dismissed Gordon for 135 with Mel Halton taking 3/39. They only bright lights for Gordon were the first grade debuts of the Blackwell twins (Alex and Kate) and pace bowler Julie McVie. Lisa Sthalekar top scored with 38 off 40 balls while Alex Blackwell made 35no off 31 balls.
Gordon will need to lift their game if they are to be a part of the finals while Bankstown will only get stronger with the return of Therese McGregor who is currently representing Australia at the Indoor Cricket World Cup in South Africa.
