A conservation question guys: On TV, you always see the pundits like John Wilson or Matt Hayes cleaning the flanks of the pikes with long strokes of the palm. I'm sure they have wet hands at least, but even then is it good or bad? I'd have thought the les you touch the less you take off the coating on their scales.

Anybody has a view?
