Good points there, IG. But at the end of Beyond the Sea when Scully pulls back & explains away things, Mulder does give her a "you should believe" type line. I think he does this much firmer in The Field Where I Died. Perhaps they should have done a few more eps that turned out not to be paranormal but then they might have worried about the audience expecting it. I just think that by 2 or 3 years of Mulder being usually right or close to it, Scully wouldn't roll her eyes at his latest theory. I recall one ep in which Mulder did say Scully "kept him honest" when she thought she was holding him back (was that The End?).
