Your post made me think of the ending to the first "Men in Black" movie. Tommy Lee Jones is returned to his former life, no remaining memories thanks to the "thingy" used to erase his memory. In the new MIB, he has to learn the ropes all over again.

Is this a possiblity--having us assume that Doggett and Reyes will be taking over the XFiles, Scully and Mulder and Baby (I hope the baby too!!!!) will go live a life quietly doing other things for a while and then return for a movie where they have to save the world again?!

One can hope after all!
