It was OK, atmospheric but not enough substance as someone else mentioned (Rabid I think). We've seen similar guys with a weird power or aspect. And we've had Mulder/Scully/Doggett revisit a case or a mentor-figure or something from before they were on the X-Files and have it turn out to be an X-File.

The religious themes don't offend me, I'm lapsed and I support the First Amendment. Say God is dead on Easter if you want to. CC has done religious themed eps much better like in Revelations. And I agree with these posts, I don't buy the creation of a whole other guy to sin for you. This would be a huge epidemic if Monica's theories are correct. And then he was the same guy as he changed into himself after the Jesus/Manson self was killed. So if was more of a Jekyl/Hyde thing.

A so-so ep. S9 might be slightly better than S8 but a far cry from anything S1-5.
