I've heard this ep was shot before "William" so that development wouldn't have been talked about here. But it's the usual separation of myth and MOTW storylines anyway so it didn't surprise me. Scully was her usual morose self so she could apear sad about William, Mulder or whatever.

I agree Brad wasn't at all noble. I think he shot the guy to end his own torment so he would be blackmailed anymore. Just protecting his own butt (since we're taking of butts apparently ;-) ).

Monica came off bad and it was sort of glossed over. She new Brad was on the take and said nothing? She just broke up with him but didn't report him? Some agent-- supposedly upholding the law.

I also agree that Doggett, like Mulder in many situations, was desparate and willing to believe anyone who might give him answers about Luke. We had no doubting Doggett this time. He believed because he wanted to. Sounds familar.

Next week...The Brady Bunch. Nooooooooooooooo!
I suppose it could turn out really funny. It's a Vince ep. But it still scares me!
