Subject: but HOW do we know? *tiny finale spoilers*
In reply to: detoured 's message, "We've been led to assume that" on 23:23:49 05/09/02 Thu

How do we know Mulder didn't have any say in the matter? From what I've seen in some minor spoilers, it seems like Mulder doesn't give a rat's ass about his life, and it seems like he's given up hope. All he cares about is his work, we've known that, but I think we were a little bit too jaded to realize or admitt it. If Scully could send him away so easily, who's to say he didn't just say "Yeah, Scully, go ahead," when she asked him about giving William up?

It's always seemed to me that Mulder has been quite selfish, and as much as I'd love to believe that he would give everything up to be with Scully and William, I know that his work on the X-Files, everything he's worked for, everything he's seen...it's more important to him and than even his own life. Scully and William are a part of that now, and I think it's even more important than the two of them combined.

I can't say I'm looking forward to the Finale next Sunday. I think we're being set up for some major dissapointment. I HOPE I'm wrong. I WANT to love the end of this show. I WANT it to be wonderful and feel like there was some closure. I want that. I'm just afraid we'll never see it.
