I would like to hear some comments from others about the proposed city boundary expansion to include the Red Bluff and Dragon Lake areas in the city limits. I live in the Red Bluff area and I am totally against the boundary expansion. The cost to the residents of Red Bluff/Dragon Lake as well as residents of the city will be huge. Can the City of Quesnel really afford to do an expansion at this time being as they are spending so much money on the PSL project? I do not have a copy of the public survey that was put out in January, but one of the questions on the survey asked if people would be willing to pay between $500.00 and $15,000.00 per year for the expansion of the water lines. I, for one, am not willing to pay that amount to be a part of the city. If I wanted to be a city resident, I would have purchased property within the city limits.
