Get out and hit the pavement with FACTS and COGENT ARGUMENTS instead of BS-ing around the water cooler at roll call and then bringing the BS to the watering hole after your tour is up. Go the the Labor Commission and get a copy of the union 's financial statements and see what they're REALLY paying themselves and their "Pals". The union files their financials with the Labor Commission every year. The financial filings are public documents that anyone has a right to have a copy. You'd be very surprised at what they report to the labor commission and what they report to the membership. Also, as a member of the union you have a right to see the union's yearly audit, which they are required by law to conduct every year and are required by law to allow any union member to review. It's your right. Why aren't you exercising your right? Get the facts. The facts are in writing. The writings are financial statements that are free to whomever wants them. The financial statements are also signed under the penalty of perjury, making them legally binding documents. JUST DO IT! If not, quit your bitching. If the union is involved in corrupt practices or is laundering money, you'll never know if you never investigate. It's your dues, it's your union, do what you need to do to protect it.
