I read the same interview where Keith said "Mother's Little Helper" was before the sitar came into rock music. Actually MLH was recorded during the same time the sitar was introduced into rock. The Beatles had released the Rubber Soul album just a few months before. In the interview I read Keith said it was him playing a 12-string electric slide guitar if I'm not mistaken. The only thing I can say is this: when the Stones released Aftermath in Britain the album credits Brian as playing the sitar, but yet the British Aftermath does not have "Paint It Black" on it but does have "Mother's Little Helper." Keep in mind that the British Aftermath album came out months before the American version, so I don't see how the record company could have made a mistake by taking the information from the American version, which wasn't released yet. I know a lot of Brian fans are saying that Keith is just trying to take credit away from Brian, but I think Keith's memory is a little burnt.
