Subject: Help, cat can't walk, vet unable to come up with answer

My 10 year old Tom started limping a few weeks ago. I thought it might be arthritis. I took him to the vet's and he had blood tests and x-rays and couldn't find anything.
He got a shot of cortisone and it helped a tiny bit.

But he is worse and worse. He can't stand on his feet and when it tries, he just slides, even on carpet.

he is eating and drinking normally, his eyes are clear, and he is still using the litter box, even though it is hard for
him to get in it.

All he does is slowly make it to his food and water and the litter box and then goes under my bed and stays there.

He is an indoor cat and NEVER goes out (he got out once when he was very young and hated it)

anyway, I called the vet and he is trying predinsone pills, I have to pick them up today.

I am thinking surely someone has heard of this! Can any body help?

Binx is my favotie of three cats, though I love them all,
and I just don't know what to do for him!

any help or ideas would be appreciated.
thanks, Terry
