I've been searching for an answer for my persian kitten (6 monthes)that has the same hind quarters problem, when I ran across your letter. I noticed your post was 2003. The vet was suspecting a lower back injury of some sort. She doesn't seem to be 100% paralyzed...she can swish tail and walks like a walrus, but lays in the litter box until the urine drains, and she deficates on herself. I also have a year old male persian, I wondered if he hurt her somehow. He's been such a little man and doesn't get off her. I've had multiple cats for over 20 years and never saw anything like this before. She's been like this for 2 weeks now and getting weaker and worse. I'm wondering about diabetes. These symptoms also started after I switched foods from smaller bites of Eukanuba to Iams. Has a diagnosis been made on your cat? Is he still alive? I don't think my girl can survive another week. She didn't eat or use the litter box today. Any info would be so helpful!
