Yes,I was there...lots of good stories...here's one: I was living in Berkeley and heard about the demonstration and festival. A bunch of us decided to go up there, see the festival then go to the protest (little did we know that we would get so stoned that we would blow off the protest completely). We got a gallon of wine, opened it up and dropped in a wide assortment of pills (acid, speed, mescaline, whatever). The pills sunkto the bottomand there was alayer that must have been 1/2 inch deep. There must have been over 100 pills in that bottle when we shook it, you could hear them rattle! We put the bottle in a brown paper bag in the back seat of my 1966 Fairlane and headed for Oregon. We traded off driving duties. Late that night a male friend was driving and we passed a cop car going the other way. The cop made a u-turn, turned on his lights and pulled us over. He told us that we didn't lower our high beams when he went past, then he asked us if we were going to the music festival or the protest. Politely we told him,"We are going to listen to themusic, officer." He shone his flashlight in the back seat of the car. The beam hit our paper bag. "What's that?" he asked. "It's wine, officer," I said. He picked it up, bag and all. He grabbed the neck of the bottle and pulled it about halfway out of the bag. I could hear the pills clanging against the bottle (ala "Telltale Heart") I could almost hear the cell door clanging shut. "Yep,it's wine alright," he said in a "Joe Friday" voice, "How old are you kids?" I was 18 andtold him so (no sense lying,it was on my ID)Only one of us was over 21. He got balled out a little. Then he lowered the wine back into the bag and said he would give it back to us if we would keep it in the trunk until we got to the festival. I gladly took the wine, locked it in the trunk and swore that it would stay there until we got to the festival (and you bet it did!). The driver got a ticket and we drove away, well under the speed limit!

Funny thing about that wine, some of those pills never disolved, so we kept pouring more and more wine into the bottle and each batch was potent. We shared it with everyone warning them that it was "electric" and asking them to strain it between their teeth as they drank so we could keep the pills in the bottle. Most people did. Finally all the pills were gone, but our gallon of electric wine stoned a lot of people.

Love to all who were there. E-mail me if ya want.
