I was at Watkins Glen too. My brother, his friend and I drove up from Baltimore in my 1972 orange Chevy Nova. We pitched a tent and left all our stuff in it as we mosied our way up to the front. We sat down in a tiny little space of about 6 inches with our knees in our faces, waiting for others to wander away and the space to eventually open up and we'd have great seats for the concert. We sat like that all night, but the next day somehow, others had wandered away and we were still there and close enough to see the bands. We made one joint hike to the port-a-potty and even made it back to the same seats even though it was miles away. After the concert we managed to find our tent, gather all our stuff, and find our car. Every car was turning right to leave the race track area and we went left and miraculously found our way out with no wait!! It was truly amazing as we had NO idea where we were going. The friend of my brothers lost every item of clothing, and paraphenalia that he brought with him. We couldn't have been more lucky. Those were three great bands, and they continue to be my favorites - it couldn't have been a more memorable weekend!!
