The Goose Lake Festival was a pretty sophisticated festival for it's time it was meant to be a permanent festival site. There was organized parking, camping, facilities and even a small carnival type area with a couple of rides or slides. The stage was a round platform of medieval design. While one band played the other would set up behind stage and then they just rotated the stage like a giant record by hand. They even had an offical program called "The Goose Lake Gags No. 1". I still have mine. The posted lineup was listed as follows...

Friday, August 7---(afternoon)--Mighty Quick-N.Y. Rock and Roll Ensemble-SRC-John Drake Shakedown---(evening)---Ten Yars After-Small Faces-Chicago-John Sebastian

Saturday, August 8---(afternoon)---Suite Charity-Litter-Brownsville Station-New World Symphony---(evening)---Mountain-Third Power-Stooges-Flying Burrito Brothers

Sunday, August 9,---(afternoon)---Frost-Bob Seger System-Mitch Ryder-Alice Cooper (did not play)---(evening)---Jethro Tull-James Gang-Savage Grace-Flock Plus-Live on Stage: An "All American Wedding".

I do not remember the MC5 playing and I would not have forgotten that. The program indicates that there was another festival planned for September 5,6,7 on Labor Day Weekend. The MC5 is listed as a possible performer at that one. I don't know if the second one took place or not. There is also a (2) page map of the festival site.
