>I was the drummer for the Shakedown, and yes I was at Goose lake. No, the MC-5 did not play and there was only one event because of complaints from the locals.I'll be 60 this year and am still playing. Dave Case (keys) went on to play with the "James Montgomery Blues Band", out east. Ron Bykowski, one of two lead guitarist played with "Parliment/Funkadelic", "100 proof" and a gig or two with Sly Stone. Tim Shaffe, bass, owns his own business in Chicago where John moved, John is married and will not have anything to do with anyone from the past. By the way John's last name is Brake, not Drake, on the 1st "Dukes" lp there was a type-o from Mainstream, and he had to stay with Drake. The "Shakedown" were booked through DMA, and we played constantly. The band broke up because of, stimulants, booze & woman. Yes, Goose lake was the best of times. Behind the wall that surrounded the stage it was very well organized, and friendly, we partied with all the bands. I thought at the time it would become a permanent thing also.Anyone want to talk about Mich. bands etc. e-mail me. Doug T
