Hitchiking was the way to get to summer jam. I hitched with a good guy friend of mine and he convinced me to travel light, i.e.a change of clothes and some plastic trash bags to keep us dry from impending weather, and all the good D's anyone could ask for. We lucked out and got there in 3 rides, which was very impressive seeing as we started out in a burb of Philadelphia. Does anyone remember that you got 6 gallons of water per person when you arrived?. My friend and I got situated and promptly mixed up a hefty batch of electric spring water and our area was VERY popular. I think we remained in one place all weekend, except for one bathroom journey.
How about all the people trying to hitch rides home after the concert, damn. WE jumped in to the bed of passing truck and off we went. THen we were picked up by a family from a forein country who were so excited because they picked up authentic hippies. They stopped along the way home from NY to take photos of us with their family. THe funny thing was, they were actually going to New Engand. We convinced them to let us show them the way and guess what? we did, all the way to the outskirts of Phila.
Great daze
