I went upstate, to the festival at Watkins Glen Raceway with some of my very closest friends at the time. My oldest brother Lou,Richard Riley-God bless his soul,Carol with a NEW Caprice convertible we all had the time of our lives. We heard the Watkins Glen Festival was going to happen, on the local BROWN U.,W.B.R.U.the only F.M.station,playing music that was the latest but no one else would play. Tkts $10.00. We got a case of beer, threw it in the trunk. We also packed up a few oz's of hash oil an were on our way. Good thing too. So,before anything could get underway, the sound check turned into a mini concert cause all these people were sitting there just baking in the sun.I don't remember what day or anything but I do remember the Grateful Dead and the Band very clearly cause I worked my way right to the front of the stage I saw teats & ass everywhere.A hotti dancing off to the side of the mainstage looked like she was a pro, dancing so tight.I took a seat next to some "OHIO" people who I traded a smoke session of my "hash oil"with for some food. They were dynamite people. The"Dead",of course, were banging out all their jams.Seemed like they played a 20minute version of every song they ever made, they had a ton of them too, lasted about 6hrs. Jerry Garcia was -made perfect for playing live. God bless his soul. The others in the group kept it going & the vocals were tight like everything else that day. I saw one of the greatest "DEAD"sets ever played and then the "BAND" hit us off with their brand of some of the finest sounds ever. Ya gotta understand that these guys were number 1 with the teens in this country & the world, at the time.So were the "ALLMAN BROS. BAND" Dickey Betts had recently joined after Duane Allman's motorcycle accident killed him . These were some of the finest groups America put out I could go on and on but I just will say that ya I was there.I had pix too - Nowadays I go to the "Harley Rendezvous" and still have the most beautiful memories. PRICELESS!!!! there.of
