I KNOW MY DAD WAS ON A CARRIER NAMED THE MONTEREY, ACCORDING TO MY DAD THERE WAS TWO SHIPS OF THE SAME NAME.HE WAS A BOATSWAIN'S MATE FROM ABOUT THE SAME TIME YOU WERE ON BOARD SHIP.
MY DAD NEVER TALKED MUCH ABOUT THE WAR UNLESS I ASKED HIM, BUT I DO REMEMBER HIM TALKING ABOUT BEING IN A TYPHOON THAT WAS PRETTY BAD. HE SAID SOME OF THE SHIPS PLANES BROKE LOOSE AND STARTED NUMBEROUS FIRES. WHAT A SCAREY THING THAT MUST HAVE BEEN!!!
MY DAD PASSED AWAY ON APRIL 1ST 2002 I REALLY MISS HIM.
I'M SORRY I CAN'T GIVE YOU ANY MORE INFORMATION THEN THIS. BY THE WAY HIS NAME WAS ALBERT GARBALAGTYS.
ONCE AGAIN I HOPE THIS IS THE SAME CARRIER THAT YOU TWO WERE ON AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD E-MAIL ME BACK. THANK-YOU
