 My father in law recently passed away and will be interned at ANC on 21 December. He served in the Army for 20 years after graduating from Dental School. Prior to that, he served in the USN for almost 18 months, graduating from USNTS Sampson in April 1945. While his DD Form 214 reflects his prior enlisted time in the Navy, we don't have a copy of his discharge papers from the Navy. We need to provide proof to Arlington Cemetary before they will allow us to indicate same on the marker. Any thoughts on how we can get this kind of documentation? We are looking for his Navy Serial Number. This is well before SSNs were used by service members. Thanks. Clarence Taylor, LTC, US Army (Retired)
