Thanks Russ for your timely response of 04/04/13 to my inquiry of 04/03/13. You noted spelling of the 3 names you found as Caldiera, but my brother (Caldeira) was inducted on 03/09/44, I assume from his home town of Taunton, Ma. His place of separation was USN Personnel Separation Center Boston, Ma. This number appears on his separation paper: 803 85 78 (his birth date is 08/21/20). A few years ago I attempted on several occasions to obtain a copy of his service records from NARA but with no reply except for a copy of his separation paper. In frustration, I had even contacted the director of NARA but never received the courtesy of a reply. It was never confirmed to me whether or not his records may have been destroyed in the big fire they had there in St Louis, Mo. years ago. I any event,
thank you very much for any additional feedback you may be able to provide.
Best Regards,
Leo Caldeira
