Hi My grandfather Augustus Jospeh Venditti or may have been spelled Agostino was sent to Sampson in Feb. 1942, not sure how long he was there. He was from Providence, Rhode Island and served on LST's in the Pacific during the war. He did leave boot camp at the end, around the time orders were initially given out to attend his fahter's funeral. He was sent new orders and most likely was sent to a base in California. He had a wife named Catherine Grecco Venditti and an infant daughter named Anna Marie born while he was in service. If anyone has any information about him I would apprerciate it greatly.
