 Not Sampson,N.Y.My boot training was at N.A S Jacksonvlle,Fl. I was drafted into Amphibs & was sent to FT.Pierace FL. I caught LST 213 in Hawaii.after my advanced amphib training at San Bruno,Ca.I was in 2 Invasions on LST 213 Leyte & Lingayen Gulf in Philippines.Tansferred to USS Bairoko CVE 115 from San Diego we went to Manila to Hong Kong & to USA. I was discharged May 1946.
