 Boarded APA211 in Hilo harbor 1/1945, rode her to Saipan, boarded LST for Iwo Jima. Unit: E-2-28 of 5th Marine Division. Met man named Peterson from old home town of Kelso, WA. Borrowed his USN dungarees to go ashore under the big clock in Honolulu. Is there a Mr. Peterson registered with you?
