 Hello. I was just wondering if anyone here new anything about the LSM-255. I know what kind of ship it is and pretty much where it was thanks to the Navsource pages. My granfather, Madison D. Davis, served on that ship from it's inception to it's demise. He was in battle in the pacific and he was also in the Phillipines. We don't really know much about his service. He never talked about it. I know that he enlisted in 1942 as active duty but was listed as USNR, and that he went to Great Lakes for basic and was in the Rooster Company. If anyone knows anything about the ship's or my grandfather's service, it would be greatly appreciated. Grandpa passed away 10-14-2002. He was 79.
