 I was at Sampson,Feb 43 in co.481,I believe Barracks 26.I shipped out to Philadelphia and was assign to the USS MONTEREY CVl 26 ,ist Div. I served on her until 45 when we came back to the states because we were damaged in a Typhoon We returned to Bremerton,Was.for repairs where I was transferred off and shipped back to Phidelphia and was assigned to a new heavy Cruiser The USS Fall River.Was on only a short time and was shipped off to Sampson for Discharge.Would like to hear from anyony who served on the USS Monterey from 43 commisining to 45 and the USS Fall River Great website
