 I am looking for anyone that new my father. His name is Carl L. Huber and was in the Navy Amphibs from 1943 - 1945. He passed away in 1974. He didn't talk to much about the war unless I asked. He stated that he was at Iwo, Saipan, and went into either Nagasaki or Hiroshima right after the signing. I am not sure what Amphib unit or what boat name he served under. He received 2 purple hearts because the landing craft he was on was hit by a shell and he had to go in with the Marines for a couple of days. He then received another Purple Heart when a shell landed in a foxhole he was sharing with 2 marines. He made it, they didn't.
