 Over 441,000 men trained at Sampson.
I've found 6 men who trained with my Father and 10 who were on ships with him.
Only one rememebers him well, two remember him slightly.
Your best bet to start your search is to get copies of his records.

You can get copies of his military records from the government.
On the research links pages there is a link to the government site that will give you instructions and the necessary paperwork.

You are looking for an SF180 form

I sent my request in a couple of weeks ago for info on my Father, but I've already found quite a bit of information in the last year. Plan on it taking a couple of months to get the records.
