Subject: This Friday at the Comcast Center

Anthony, you asked for a women's update a week or so ago so here it goes.

I plan on heading down to College Park on Friday evening for the first ever regular season game in the Comcast Center. On occassion we have beaten the Terps because the Hounds were always so much more prepared than MD. However with Brenda Oldfied/Friese now at MD, that advantage is probably gone. Not only will the Terps have more talent but they will also be well coached. Oldfield has not stayed anywhere long enough to prove whether or not she can recruit but if she can recruit then look for the Terps to regain their lost luster. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this does not happen.

I went to the Loyola exhibition two weeks ago and the team looked ok. We are probably headed for a middle of the road MAAC finish say between 4th and 6th. The freshman post players look like they have potential but are not anywhere near as good at this stage of their careers as were Kirsch and Rath. I did really like the freshman guards. Krystle Harrington who backed up Lindsay Cobb at the point just looks like she has a feel for the game and she is quick. Jillian Henn who is a two guard looks like she is a shooter. She missed all of her shots from the field in the exhibition but she did have a nice shot...man I sound like you Anthony saying that someone is a shooter when I have never seen her make a basket LOL. Jillian did get hurt in the game, hopefully it was nothing serious.

As always we really need someone who can create their own shot off the dribble AND be able to pass to an open player when the defense shifts. I saw that we announced next year's recruiting class hopefully that class includes a slasher or two.

Prediction MD 85 Loyola 53

Scott
